Upon arriving at the hotel, I found the rooms to be a bit underwhelming. Although the furnishings were dated and the HVAC system had a musty smell when turned on, the view from the room was absolutely spectacular. The included continental breakfast was a fantastic touch, especially for someone like me who is gluten-sensitive and vegan. However, the room did maintain a musty smell throughout my stay.

The service was a mixed bag. While the staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the property's history, there were instances where the room was still being cleaned during my stay. The breakfast wait staff, on the other hand, were very nice and provided excellent service.

The location of the hotel was beautiful, with spectacular views and gardens. It was great that it was within walking distance of Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. However, the potential need for renovation and mold issues could be concerning.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were musty and below the standard I expected for the rates charged, with bright lights making it hard to rest at night. On the bright side, the separate location from the main house offered some privacy, but overall, there were significant drawbacks.
